While scanning documents using scanner HP Scanjet 2400 for a particular user; an error popped up. Below attached is the error message.

This error had come only while opening HP director (hpqdirec.exe) for a particular user and when logging on to the same computer with other accounts, HP director had been working fine.
I re-installed the software for HP Scanner, removed it from the registry, renamed profile on the server & deleted profiles from all desktop computers for this user, giving permission on appdata, giving local admin rights but nothing worked.
I also called HP tech support and they suggested upgrading Microsoft .net framework software but this also failed to resolve the issue.
The solution looked simple but it wasn't believe me
Since the profile for this user was roaming so manually created folders inside his appdata;
file:////de-appdata/appdata$/username.surname/Hewlett-Packard/Digital Imaging
and then copied files devices.xml and settings.xml. All worked fine after this. Quite interesting!!
